Bluebells was inspired by the simple beauty of bluebells moving gently in the breeze. I wanted the music to have that same natural sense of movement – never hurried, but always quietly flowing.
The piece lets the melody breathe above a steady accompaniment, creating the feeling of watching the flowers nod and sway as the breeze passes through them. The simplicity of the music is part of its charm, allowing the image of the bluebells to remain at the heart of the piece.
