Broken Earth reflects a sense of unease about the world we are leaving behind. The music moves between moments of quiet beauty and darker, more unsettled passages, capturing both a love for our planet and a feeling of helplessness about what is happening to it.
It is a piece born from sadness, but also from caring deeply about the world around us. Beneath the darkness is a simple hope: that what we have not yet lost can still be protected.

Broken Earth came from my deep concern for the natural world and the direction in which we are heading. I have always felt strongly about protecting our planet, and there are times when that concern can feel overwhelming.
When I wrote this piece, I think some of that sense of desolation found its way into the music.
Rather than trying to tell a specific story, I wanted to capture the emotional weight of seeing something beautiful and precious being damaged, and the sadness that comes with feeling unable to stop it.
