Peach Sunset

The day does not end all at once.

Peach Sunset captures those last moments of daylight, when the landscape is softened by fading warmth and the colours of the sky seem to deepen with every passing minute.

The music gradually unfolds in soft, spacious phrases, with a sweeping gesture that rises above the texture like a final arc of light. Gentle and radiant, the piece lingers in the last glow of the day before slipping quietly into silence.

Behind the piece:

Released • June 8 2025

Peach Sunset began with the idea of painting the sunset through sound. I wanted to create a texture that would ripple gently from low to high and back again, almost like brushstrokes moving across the sky as the light changes.

Rather than building towards a dramatic climax, I wanted the music to move naturally through these rising and falling textures, allowing different registers and harmonies to create subtle shifts of colour. The higher notes become flashes of light within the wider texture, like the last warm rays catching the sky.

As the piece draws towards its close, the movement becomes increasingly downward, reflecting the sun slowly sinking below the horizon. The music settles with it, until the last light disappears.
